ELLAND AVENUE

STATUS: COMPLETED 2017

Uniquely positioned where suburb meets city, the Elland Avenue consists of 101 apartments located within one of Melbourne’s emerging cultural precincts.

The development’s striking facade took inspiration from renowned Dutch artist Piet Mondrain, whose work consisted of a grid of vertical and horizontal black lines, filled with one of the three primary colours upon a white background. K2LD saw parallels between the geometric shapes created by the intersecting lines and the divisions between apartment spaces, and thus were inspired to adapt the concept, creating a dynamic external composition.
